THE ROLE

A successful growing firm of construction consultants now seeks a Trainee CDM / Principal Designer to join their team managing health and safety and welfare on all building and construction projects. You will ensure that projects comply with all of the latest regulations.

You will report to a Senior CDM Advisor and full training both in-house and external will be given.

This is an exciting opportunity as this firm is growing and there will be plenty of opportunities for promotion in the future.

You will work on a good range of building projects to include offices, residential, student accommodation and more.

You will identify and manage design risks during the pre-construction phase, apply knowledge of design and construction to eliminate risk, ensure that all designers and contractors comply with the current CDM Regulations, advise and assist clients, consultants and contractors.

THE COMPANY

My client is a growing firm of construction consultants providing clients with Project Management, Quantity Surveying, CDM Services and Building Surveying.

This firm generally works on projects across the South East, South West and in London.

THE CANDIDATE

You will either be working towards a construction related Degree (e.g. Architecture, Civils Engineering, Structural Engineering or similar and have either recently finished your Degree and have a genuine interest in getting into a role as a Principal Designer / CDM Advisor or be halfway or more through your degree and keen to finish it on day release.

You may instead have gained an appropriate qualification in CDM Regulations / Health & Safety and be keen to progress your career with a firm of construction consultants.

Good communication skills are essential and to have the ability to deal with people at all levels.

Salary is negotiable according to experience but in the region of £26000 to £28000 per annum depending on your experience plus other benefits including pension, RICS fees, discretionary bonus etc.
