THE ROLE
My client, a respected and forward thinking firm of construction consultants now seeks an ASSOCIATE PROJECT MANAGER or PROJECT DIRECTOR to run a high rise residential project followed by other similar residential projects. You will be based from their London office with travel initially to Leeds for meetings etc.
You will carry out the full range of project management duties throughout all stages of the projects from pre planning stages through feasibility, acquisition, design, construction, handover etc.
You will be responsible for helping clients appoint the consultant teams plus agreeing fees and services, preparing risk management and procurement strategies for clients.
You will be able to run projects without supervision reporting directly to a Partner.
THE CLIENT
My client is a firm of construction consultants providing both quantity surveying (cost management) and project management services to a range of clients – mainly in the private sector.
THE CANDIDATE
You will need to have a BSc or BSc Hons or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying, Construction Project Management, Engineering, Architecture or another construction / built environment subject.
You are likely to be MRICS, MCIOB or MAPM qualified.
Previous experience of working on high rise residential buildings is essential.
You will need to have a minimum of around six years or more post qualification project management experience within the construction industry having worked for another firm of construction consultants or with a multi-disciplinary consultants or with a large residential developer as a senior project manager, associate or project director.
You will becoming involved in all aspects of construction projects representing the client from pre-planning stages through feasibility, through acquisition, design, construction and handover.
You will need to have a stable work record along with excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
Salary will be in the region of £80000 to £95000 depending on your experience and there are a number of benefits including pension contribution etc.
