THE ROLE
I am seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join my client, a firm of PQS in Exeter, Devon.
You will work mainly on utilities projects for water using NEC contracts.
There will also be other interesting construction projects.
You should have excellent experience of using NEC contracts for either water or for other engineering services working as a Quantity Surveyor in particular good with good cost estimating experience.
THE COMPANY
My client is a successful and friendly firm of construction consultants providing cost management, employers agent, project management and building surveying services with offices in the UK and in the EU.
THE CANDIDATE
You will be a Senior Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager with at least five years post graduate experience working as a QS, in the building construction industry.
You will need experience of all pre and post contract QS duties including budget estimates, cost plans and client reports.
Have experience of providing advice on procurement and contracts.
Have experience in the use of NEC contracts.
Be able to do evaluating tenders, contractor selection and contract documentation.
Do risk and value management.
Do valuations, forecasts, cost reports and all post contract duties.
Ideally you will be degree qualified in construction, cost management, engineering, quantity surveying or similar RICS accredited degree.
You should be MRICS or similarly chartered or have quantity surveying and cost management and NEC experience at senior level.
You must have good client facing and good report writing skills.
Salary is from £50000 to £60000 plus car allowance of £4950 plus discretionary bonus, pension contribution, BUPA healthcare and hybrid working 2 / 3 days per week.
